Well this is where you get to know Daff's background and lifestyle to date.

Born - England and named after the midwife, Daphne is also the name of a Greek flower.

Age - 39, born 7th December 1967.

Lives - The Midlands of the UK, longs to move to the USA and may will endeavour to research into that into the not too distant future.

Favourite Music, Food and Drink - Rock music, Egg n Chips, and to wash it down a bottle of Bud or diet coke !!

How Do You Like To Dress?

Daff - "Ok dude, here goes.  For gigs and beer related functions, Jeans, Guns n Roses or Alice Cooper strappy tshirt or such like, leather waistcoat, boots n Leather Hat (laughs), sometimes denim shorts if warm.  Work I wear my tailored trousers and top, like a proper office dude, then at home a change into my joggers and sweat top ha ha".  "I have been known to wear a dress but dont tell too many people eh".

Dislikes

Mind games, complications, people who talk shit or dont speak their mind, bitchy women, people in suits who think their god but have no power, bad weather, early mornings, having to repeat myself, computers and too many text messages.

Family - Daff has no children, nor does she have any plans to start a family.   Some call her selfish and she really doesn't care, she likes her 'no ties' lifestyle. 

Hobbies and Background - Daff likes to keep fit by regular walking and jogging, but mainly occupies herself with making music.  Daff is trying to push herself more into the heart of music and some of her songs will be uploaded onto this website soon. 

Daff is still working on Guns n Roses music even though the Guns n Roses Tribute band did fall apart, as she hopes to form a new band soon whether it be a tribute band or a pub band.  This can be taxing with her full time job so good time management is something she regularly adheres to.  There are only so many hours in the day (laughs).

Personality and Temperament

Daff is generally a friendly person, who does like her own space and doesn't appreciate persistent friends and family.  Daff can be quite reclusive.  At the same time she is outgoing, assertive, protective and is not afraid to fight for what is hers.  She is a perfectionist and a good team player.  Has always been a very wild, fun loving person who loves to party. 

Daff is a handful and impatient, it takes a very special person to be able to keep up with her whirlwind existence, and she can on occasions be unpredictable and may not like to compromise.  Daff has been known to fly into a rage, but then recovers from this very quickly, and doesn't normally hold a grudge.  Daff doesn't like to sit still for long and this is how the nick-name Dash came about.  She likes to be out at a weekend or doing something at least one of the nights, and is often not at home at weekends, probably in some hotel somewhere (laughs). 

While Daff is no angel, she has calmed down a lot over the years, she can still consume a lot of alcohol on a night out and still stand at the end of the night (laughs).  "Daff, thank you for letting me say that".

Music is her main priority, she gets very edgy if she feels that she cannot get on with  this for just a day for any reason, I suppose it's a better addiction than alcohol.  (laughs).  Music being her main priority she now refuses to let anything stand in the way.

Daff is just one crazy little rock chick and we all love her.

Background

Daff has a good life, has many friends and is a very popular person who likes lots of holidays in the sun.  Like a lot of people Daff has had a few ups and downs in life, but everything has worked out well in the end. 

At 9 years old her mother and father parted, mutually, and in time her mum Val settled down with a new partner, Bob.  Bob had 2 children, Robert and Lynn, but unfortunately Lynn died at 12.  Daff warmed to Bob, and often jokes about how she used to get 2 summer holidays because of 2 dads each year when all the other kids at school barely got one.  Then Denis (dad) met a wonderful new wife, Margaret, who has 3 lovely daughters, meaning 3 new sisters for Daff, who she is very close to.  So the break up with Daff's mum and dad wasn't a bad thing in the end, everyone is very happy. 

Her family play instruments and have been involved in music all their lives so Daff was brought up around music, Dad was in a jazz band, Bob played the guitar and later on joined a local pub band.  Her stepbrother plays in bands.  Daff met him when he was 2 and watched him grow and become a very good musician.  Many times Bob would play the guitar and sing Daff to sleep when she was young.   Christmas Day they would all sit round the piano playing and singing, this is a very memorable part of Daff's life and she is still very touched when we talk of this.

At 13 Daff played the trumpet and often performed solo on stage at school.  Daff also played in a brass band for the Girls Brigade, then in her later teens for the Salvation Army band.  During that time, she started taking up piano lessons, taking grades, then as time passed Daff found the art of Karate, met new friends in that field, fought in tournaments throughout the UK and reached the black belt.  After 4 years she retired from the sport due to knee problems and club politics, but carried on keeping fit in the gym for many years after.

Then came a neck and shoulder injury, time to retire from the gym also, and to replace all this free time on her hands she made a comittment again with music.  "Its far safer" (Daff laughs).

For the last few years Daff has been songwriting and is back onto the keyboard, and guitar after a good few years break, loving every minute of it.  Daff has made many wonderful friends in the music field and she can be found at many gigs in the UK.  It's been a busy summer this year as Daff has been to many other social events, been on tour with the band Spitfire, they're great friends of hers, they have many fun weekends away.  Annie the tourbus was a real hit at the latest biker convention .  Daff's main local bar is in Rugby, The Courthouse, where live bands perform.  So if you want to meet her, get yourself down there, I know she will be pleased to meet you.   It is often a lunchtime meeting haunt for Daff too when she isn't running in the park.

It is not uncommon for her to have a few friends round after a night out for a jam in her house, good job she has no adjoining neighbours, "thats why I bought a detached house" (Daff laughs).

Life has not always been a bed of roses though, Daff and family lost Bob to cancer 10 years ago, which came as a terrible shock. Daff has since written the song (Soulmate) but not as yet sang this due to the nature of it, it is very heart wrenching, but she has promised to make a go of this song with her brother.  This will be uploaded in due course.  Daff also had a bad time when her grandmother (known as Nana), whom she is very close to, became ill 3 years ago, but happily she pulled through and is back to normal.  Daff regularly stays for a weekend and it is said this is where Daff does her songwriting and melody making.

Daff is now going through a crisis at work and feels that this may show in some of her songs, as a lot of feelings are shown in songs.  "I think the music is keeping me sane though" There will be a huge change where Daphne works and a lot of redundancies, job changes etc.  So far there is nothing Daphne wants to apply for so things are not looking good on continuing her long service.  After 21 years of service this is going to be quite a life change but Daff assures me it can only be good, a change will be as good as a rest.  A song Daff has written recently "footprints on your heart" is an influence from this latest restructure at work.  Lately Daff has been very down due to this as like anybody else in her situation it lays subconsciiously on the mind.  We wish you a lot of luck on that.

Daff's Favourite Local Bands

Daff has quite a few favourites who she regularly meets and there are photo's of some of them in the photo section.  These bands are:

UK Guns n Roses, Guns2Roses, Permission To Rock, Spitfire, Hells Bells, The Jukebox Junkies, The Swains, Strangers, US4, Sweet Seduction and Rattlesnake Remedy.

Daff particulary likes festivals, staying over at hotels in different towns when seeing a band who are touring , some of which are great friends.  This is something she has done for a long time and is typical of her restless lifestyle.

Who Is Your Best Friend?

"Easy, hubby, I know I am not easy to live with, he is very supportive with the music, of course Nana.  Nana and me have gone through so much shit together, we nearly lost her to some fuckin hospital bug, but happily she overcame it and is now back to her normal happy outgoing self.  We have many weekends together, shopping, eating out and generally relaxing, this is when I get my serious songwriting done (laughs).

Of course my friends, 2 of which, Karen and Shez I love them so much, their my best girl mates/solemates, they have put up with a lot over the years with me as I'm not exactly the quiet sit still person and like to party hard in loud places, and I'm very impatient, sometimes bad tempered, I like results yesterday too !"
