I am planning to go this Wednesday, all being well, at the same place that I went to last week, its all very friendly and people can come and go as they please.  I shall also be trying some different venues to get myself used to playing in different environments.  Check out www.myspace.com/myfieldofemotions for dates. 

FAMILY NEWS - 1ST JUNE 2008

Here is the latest news on my stepsister who had a stroke a few weeks ago.

She is making much better progress, despite having had a secondary stroke.  She has now been given the all clear to come out of hospital and receive regular daily physio at home.  think she will make a better recovery now she is home.  She is getting around fairly well, on a good day without her wheelchair, unfortunately the drugs that she has to take have side effects which make her dizzy an sick.  Sometimes she cannot walk and has to use the wheelchair.  She still has no feeling in her body and legs, for example if she has a hot bath, she cannot feel that it is hot.  She can swallow but has only feeling on one side. 

We went to her daughter's Christening today (1st June) and it all went really well, her baby daughter was as good as gold and we all had a great get together at her in laws house afterwards.  Weather was kind too, which was good since there was a huge trampoline for the kids. I would have had a go too but I was sensible and remembered that I have damaged a muscle in my neck so I ducked out of that one.  

LIVE ACOUSTIC NIGHT - 28TH MAY 2008

I went to an acoustic night / open mic at a local pub in my town called The Squirrel, the host of the night was a friend of my step brothers and they performed a duo together at a festival last year.

I intended to sing 2 of my songs due to the large amount of people there as it is very popular, and it was my first time in a pub in my own town performing, but I did 3.  Everyone really liked my songs and the host asked me to do another, so I did.

I sang: Footprints on our Hearts, Soulmate and a very new one called Tears on my Pillow.

Hopefully sometime I can get a short video done of me  performing so that I can upload it.  One of the songs is already uploaded on www.myspace.com/myfieldofemotions but was recorded some time ago, I have progressed since then, but it can be heard.  Also on that myspace I have further dates of when I will be going to these events.  It is a superb way of meeting other musicians and I learn a lot.

Alladin - 19th January 2008 - Birmingham Hippodrome

My best friend and I went to Birmingham, checked in at the Copthorne hotel in the afternoon, had a few beers and a meal and got ready for the panto.   The panto was really good, John Barrowman was Alladin, he also stars in Torchwood on Wednesdays, 9pm on BBC2. 

I had my picture taken with John Barrowman (aboe) and another member of the cast (below). 

We then moved on up Broad Street pubs after the Panto for yet, more beer.

NEW YEARS EVE 2007

L A Rock Cafe in Cannock town centre, where Guns2Roses played on New Years Eve.

Bootleg Beatles - 22nd December 2007

We went to see the Bootleg Beatles at the NIA in Birmingham UK, brilliant, I have never really been a huge fan of the Beatles, probably more ignorant, but I really thought they were brilliant and would go again.  See a short clip below.

15th December 2007

I have been to London today to the Casting Suite Studio on Lower James Street for my photo shoot and video show reel.  This will appear on their website soon for tv companies etc to enter the profiles and hopefully pick me for a suitable start in tv work.  Here is a pic of me dressed like a lady for a change, I also had a terrible cold so thought I scrubbed up reasonably well considering the sniffing and sneezing ha ha.

My 40th Birthday - 7th December 2007

Well I reached the big 40, yikes.  It really is not so bad as every one whitters on about to be honest, no different from any other birthday.  Went out with friends etc on the night of my birthday and showed our home town how to party, not too hungover the next day either, good old jack daniels eh.  Then on the Saturday night I went out for a delicious chinese meal, then out for the day on Sunday so a good weekend of celebrating. 

Thank you to everyone who came and a big thank you to my family and close friends for all the lovely presents etc.

I managed to skirt the bumps and a meeting at work ha ha !!
